At the heart of Yama is our founder, a Thai woman whose love for food began in her childhood kitchen, surrounded by the aroma of simmering broths and sizzling spices. Her journey brought her across Asia, but one dish stole her heart above all others: ramen. From Tokyo street stalls to cozy shops tucked away in Kyoto, she studied, tasted, and fell in love with the art of crafting perfect noodles in soul-warming broth.​With that love and years of experience in Thai home cooking, she opened Yama to bring together the rich flavors of Japanese ramen and the bold, vibrant taste of Thai cuisine—all in one inviting place. At Yama, we don’t just serve food—we share a piece of home. Our dishes are prepared with care, using fresh ingredients and traditional methods, but always with a personal twist.
